Terms of service

Lurkfish provides weekly analysis of public social-media content for the accounts you choose to track. Briefs are AI-assisted analysis of public commentary — they are decision support, not guarantees. Verify before you bet the brand on any single insight; that's why every claim links to its evidence.

One organization per account. You are responsible for the accounts you invite. Don't share sign-in links; they are personal magic links.

Use the product to understand markets and audiences, for legitimate business purposes, and in compliance with applicable law. Don't use it to target, harass, dox, or attempt to identify individual commenters (the data model prevents this by design), don't resell or redistribute raw collected data, and don't attempt to scrape or reverse-engineer the service.

You are responsible for how you act on the analysis. Nothing here grants you rights in the underlying platform content, and your use of any platform remains subject to that platform's own terms.

Card subscriptions renew monthly or annually until cancelled from the customer portal; the 7-day trial converts automatically unless cancelled. Crypto purchases are prepaid, non-renewing terms. Fees are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise — but if something broke and you write to us, we're reasonable people.

Lurkfish is an independent analytics product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with Meta Platforms, Instagram, TikTok, ByteDance, or any other platform. "Instagram", "TikTok", and other platform and product names are trademarks of their respective owners; we reference them only nominatively, to describe which public content our product can analyze.

We analyze only content that is publicly accessible to a logged-out visitor — public posts, captions, comments, and follower counts. We do not access private accounts, log in on your or anyone else's behalf, use platform account credentials, or bypass authentication, rate limits, paywalls, or other technical access controls.

Public data is obtained through independent, licensed third-party data providers under their own terms; we consume already-collected public data rather than operating platform accounts to gather it. The short evidence excerpts shown in briefs are used for analysis and verification (a transformative purpose) — we do not republish or redistribute platform feeds or datasets wholesale.

Platforms change; providers hiccup. When a data source degrades we say so in the product (data-quality notes on affected briefs) rather than fabricate, and sustained provider outages may delay briefs.

Posts, captions, and comments belong to the platforms and the people who created them. We claim no ownership of that content; what we license to you is our analysis, not the underlying material. If a platform, a rights-holder, or an individual asks us to remove specific content — or it is deleted at its source — we remove or redact it promptly. Send removal requests to our support address.

The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email at least 14 days ahead. Continued use after that means acceptance.
