lurkfish

▍ nothing without receipts

Your niche's audience is telling you what to post. We read all of it.

Lurkfish tracks the Instagram and TikTok accounts that matter in your niche, reads thousands of their comments every week, and delivers an intelligence brief where every claim carries verbatim evidence. This is what one looks like:

Skincare — US market · week 2026-W28 · sample brief with illustrative quotes

Pop-up events are outperforming product posts 3 to 1 — and the audience is begging for restocks nobody announces

  • Event content drove the week's top 3 posts by engagement; carousel product shots underperformed their account medians.
  • "Restock when?" style comments doubled week-over-week across two competitor launches — an unanswered demand signal.
  • SPF texture complaints keep compounding on @dermaglow's hero product; their audience is openly shopping for alternatives.
unmet demand

Restock questions are going unanswered

116%

Two competitor launches sold out mid-week and their comments filled with purchase-intent questions no brand answered. For a brand with stock, this is a free positioning window: 'in stock, ships today' content lands directly on unmet demand.

complaint

SPF texture complaints compound for the third week

23%

Complaints about pilling and white cast on @dermaglow's SPF keep rising, and the tone is shifting from feedback to alternative-shopping. A comparison post ('no pilling under makeup, here's proof') would meet an audience already primed to switch.

trend

Event content is the format of the month

32%

In-person pop-ups and 'come with me' event reels beat product carousels on every account that tried them. The audience isn't asking for more product shots — they're asking where to show up.

content angle, ready to film

"It's sold out everywhere — except here."

Film a 20-second shelf pan of your in-stock bestsellers that competitors can't keep stocked. Caption names the exact products people are hunting for. Comment-bait: 'which one should we never let sell out?'

Fair questions

Where does the data come from?

Public posts and comments only, collected through licensed third-party data providers. We never ask for your passwords, never connect to your accounts, and never collect anything a logged-out visitor couldn't see.

Do you store who wrote each comment?

No. Commenter identities are discarded at ingestion — we keep an anonymous fingerprint solely to avoid counting spam twice. Evidence quotes show the text and which brand's post it appeared on, never the commenter.

Is the brief above real?

It's a faithful sample: real structure, real component rendering, and patterns modeled on briefs the pipeline produces — but the quotes are illustrative, because we don't republish people's comments on a marketing page.

What about TikTok?

Instagram is fully supported today. TikTok accounts can be added and are queued — our data vendor is closing a gap on post feeds; we show the status honestly in-app rather than pretending.

Can I pay with crypto?

Yes — BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC for prepaid 6- or 12-month terms, alongside regular card billing.
